These terms cover your use of Orbit, an Android application published by Skord Labs. Installing or using Orbit means you accept them. They are written to be read, not to be impressive.
1. Using Orbit
You may install and use Orbit on devices you control, for personal or work purposes, at no charge. You may not redistribute modified builds of the app as though they were ours, or present Orbit as your own product.
2. Provided as-is
Orbit is provided as-is and as-available, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied — including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted or error-free operation. You use it at your own risk.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Skord Labs is not liable for any loss of data, missed deadline, missed reminder, or indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Orbit. If your local law does not allow some of these exclusions, they apply to you only as far as that law allows.
3. Your data is your responsibility
Your tasks live on your device. We hold no copy — see the Privacy Policy. That means you are responsible for keeping your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. Uninstalling the app, clearing app data, resetting or losing the device will remove the local data, and we cannot recover it for you.
4. Backup is a convenience, not a guarantee
Orbit can back up to a private application-data folder in your own Google Drive. That backup is offered as a convenience. It is not a guaranteed, monitored or supported archive service, and we do not promise that a backup will exist, be complete, or restore successfully at any given moment.
Because the file lives in your Drive, it is also subject to Google’s terms and to your own storage quota. If your quota is full, if you revoke Orbit’s access, or if you delete the file, no backup will be available. Orbit uses no cloud storage other than your own Google Drive.
5. Google sign-in
Signing in with Google is optional and only needed for backup. It is currently limited to invited testers while Orbit goes through Google’s verification process, so it may be unavailable to you. Every other feature of Orbit works without an account. You are responsible for the security of the Google account you use.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Orbit for anything unlawful;
- attempt to interfere with the app’s operation on other people’s devices;
- attempt to abuse, overload or circumvent the Google services Orbit connects to;
- reverse engineer the app in order to distribute a competing build under a misleading name.
7. The app may change
Orbit is under active development. Features may be added, altered or removed between versions, and a given version may stop working on future Android releases. We may also stop publishing new versions. Nothing here obliges us to keep any particular feature available.
8. Distribution
Orbit is distributed from this site as a signed APK you install yourself. It is not published on Google Play, and there is no iOS version. Only install builds you downloaded from this site or received directly from us — we cannot vouch for a copy obtained anywhere else.
9. Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the date at the top of this page is updated. Continuing to use Orbit after a change means you accept the revised terms.
